NFL Draft 2022: Giants, Jets pick elite pass rushers; Eagles load up on defense in latest 1st-round mock – NJ.com

The 2022 NFL Draft is shaping up to be all about three teams: the New York GiantsNew York Jets and Philadelphia Eagles.

Both the Giants and Jets will have a pair of top-10 picks while the Eagles will have three of the first 19 selections.

Here’s what CBS Sports predicted in its latest first-round mock.

Jets

The Jets have a pair of first-round picks in 2022: their own, plus one from the Seattle Seahawks as part of the Jamal Adams trade.

4. Kayvon Thibodeaux, EDGE, Oregon

The Jets landing the Oregon product to pair with Carl Lawson and Quinnen Williams turns that into a very good unit.

10. (from Seattle) Kyle Hamilton, S, Notre Dame

The selection of a safety is a bit of out of the box, but he is the best player available and can be a mainstay on that defense for a decade.

Giants

The Giants have a pair of first-round picks in 2022: their own, plus one from the Chicago Bears as part of the deal which sent Justin Fields to the Windy City and Kadarius Toney to the Big Apple.

5. Ikem Ekwonu, OT, NC State

The Giants need to address the trenches with their picks. By a sheer numbers game, they should be able to get a quality combination of players.

7. (from Chicago) George Karlaftis, DE, Purdue

The Purdue product is a mature defender who knows how to use his hands to get off blocks.

Eagles

The Eagles are sitting on three first-round picks: their own, plus one from the Miami Dolphins in the DeVonta Smith trade and one from the Indianapolis Colts in the Carson Wentz trade.

15. (from Miami) Tyler Linderbaum, OL, Iowa

Jason Kelce is not going to play forever, and the selection of Linderbaum is the closest to a net zero loss as the team could possibly come at the position.

16. (from Indianapolis) David Ojabo, LB, Michigan

Derek Barnett is a free agent and Brandon Graham is not going to play forever, so Ojabo is picked to threaten opposing quarterbacks opposite Josh Sweat.

19. Andrew Booth Jr., CB, Clemson

He is accustomed to playing a high percentage of zone coverage and gives the Eagles a very talented tandem at cornerback.
