Aaron Rodgers thanks Shailene Woodley for unconditional love amid split rumors – Page Six

Aaron Rodgers thanked Shailene Woodley for showing him what “unconditional love” looks like amid rumors the engaged couple broke up.

“Here’s some… #MondayNightGratitude for some of the incredibly special people in my life, with some pictures from the last beautiful year,” Rodgers captioned a slideshow of photos, which included a picture of him and Woodley, cuddling.

Despite the ongoing buzz that the couple have gone their separate ways, Rodgers wrote, “thanks for letting me chase after you the first couple months after we met, and finally letting me catch up to you and be a part of your life.

“Thanks for always having my back, for the incredible kindness you show me and everyone you meet, and for showing me what unconditional love looks like, I love you and am grateful for you.”

The post comes just one day after the NFL star, 38, posted about the meaning of love on his social media.

Last week, several insiders confirmed that the pair had split after nearly two years together.

A source close to Rodgers told People at the time that the breakup was “amicable,” adding, “They’re very different people with busy careers, and there were obstacles that they couldn’t surmount. They will remain friendly; there’s no bad blood and no drama. It just didn’t work out for them.”

Another told In Touch, “While Shailene is supportive of Aaron’s career, he put football first and they were barely spending any time together. She felt he neglected their relationship. Neither of them was happy.”

Rodgers also took a moment to express his gratitude to his fellow teammates in his post on Monday night, including Randall Cobb and David Bakhtiari, and their respective wives and girlfriends.

“To my teammates, past and current, you are the icing on the beautiful cake we call our job; football,” he continued. “the friendships that we have will transcend our collective time in this game and I am so thankful for the role that each of you have played in making my life that much better. I love you guys, and cherish the memories we’ve made.”

Rodgers then concluded with an inspiration message, writing, Spread love and gratitude you beautiful people, and read a book once in a while too while you’re at it. Love and peace ❤️❤️.”

Several fans in the comments were left confused by the cryptic post, but many also believed it to be a prequel to his official NFL retirement announcement.

One follower commented, “this almost sounds like a prequel to a goodbye to Green Bay or dare I say the NFL… 😢.”

Another, who agreed with the latter user’s sentiment, wrote, “Did he jus break up w us…”
