2022 NBA playoffs: Scores, live updates as Nuggets face Warriors, 76ers handle Raptors in first-round action – CBS Sports

Welcome to Day 1 of the 2022 NBA playoffs. As is tradition, all eight first-round series will debut over the next two days with four Game 1s today and four more Sunday. The fifth-seeded Utah Jazz tipped off Saturday’s action with a 99-93 win over the No. 4 Mavericks, who played without an injured Luka Doncic. In the second game of the day, the No. 7 Timberwolves defeated the second-seeded Grizzlies 130-117. Next up, Joel Embiid and the 76ers dominated the Raptors from start to finish en route to a 131-111 victory.

Rounding out opening day is one of the more mysterious series of the first round. Presumptive MVP Nikola Jokic will lead the  No. 6 Nuggets into San Francisco to face the third-seeded Warriors, who are still waiting for Stephen Curry to fully recover from a foot injury, and until we know how healthy the two-time MVP winner is, we’ll have no way of knowing what to expect in that series. With Curry coming off of the bench in Game 1, the Warriors got off to a slow start but he and the rest of the team have since found their groove to enter the final frame with a comfortable lead.
