Mets opener vs. Rockies postponed with snow coming – New York Post

As New York dusts off its flip-flops and grills for a weekend heat wave, the Mets should hope they packed their winter jackets.

The Mets’ game in Denver on Friday was postponed because of both rain and snow in the forecast.

The Mets and Rockies will play a split doubleheader Saturday beginning at 3:10 p.m. The second game will be at 8:40 p.m.

The Mets had Carlos Carrasco scheduled to pitch Friday, so he likely will get the ball in one game Saturday. David Peterson is likely to start the other game.

It will be the Mets’ fifth doubleheader of the season and fourth in May.
