Raiders news: Josh Jacobs is on practice field – Silver And Black Pride

Jon Gruden’s hopeful thinking appears to be playing off.

Josh Jacobs reportedly was on the practice field for the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday as they begin the work week to prepare to play at the Los Angeles Chargers at SoFi Stadium on Monday Night Football.

On Monday, Gruden said the team was “hopeful” Jacobs could practice at some point this week. The fact that he was on the field Thursday indicates he will practice, at least on a limited basis. We will get the official practice report later Thursday.

If Jacobs can work without much pain, he has a chance to play against the Chargers who have the worst ranked run defense in the NFL. They are allowing 170 rushing yards a game.

Jacobs hasn’t played since Week 1. He has been dealing with ankle and toe ailments,

Meanwhile, backup running back Jalen Richard started practicing on Thursday. He has been on the injured reserve all season with a foot injury he suffered during training camp in August. The team has three weeks to activate Richard. There is an opening on the 53-man roster now.

UPDATE: Gruden said after practice Jacobs is “very questionable” to play Monday.
